What is Fosroc Reebol?

Fosroc Reebol is a specially formulated combination of mineral oils and chemicals that offer release properties greater than those of a conventional mould oil. The chemicals create a recreation with the alkali in the concrete to create a thin water repellent skin on the surface of the mould. This enables easy striping from concrete and serves as a protection to steel, aluminium and wooden formwork. Fosroc Reebol is a golden yellow coloured liquid [Shuttering Oil] that can be used directly. Imperfections in concrete are caused by air trapped on the shuttered faces of concrete which calls for corrective measures that need to be taken. Fosroc Reebol is designed to eliminate time and money expended on this.

In a concrete mix there occurs a chemical reaction between Fosroc Reebol and the cement which produces a strongly hydrophobic surface. This prevents the collection of surplus water at the interface with the mould and prevents any damage to the concrete thereby preserving its uniformity of surface texture and colour.

Re-use of Moulds

Fosroc Reebol’s exceptional release properties cause little or no deposit of cement paste to remain on the shutter surface. With minimum cleaning down and an additional coat of Reebol the shutters are ready for reuse.
