  • Epoxy-resin coating without the use of solvent for strengthening water retaining structure Uses Nitocote EP405 is preferably recommended for water-proof and lining of water-retaining structure and surface-touching with foodstuff. The cured concrete film withstands corrosion, chemical damage abrasion, is befitting for application in Breweries, Dairies, Food Meat Processing Plants, Reservoir, Silo, Tanks and Water Treatment Plants. The film of cured concrete is non-toxic and complies with standards of IS 9833 - 1981. Advantages Food grade & Hygienic - CFTRI approved for suitability to potable water and food stuff storage. Compatible with all substrates - Can be applied directly on to mild steel and concrete Aesthetic - Forms a smooth, glossy and to easy clean surface on curing Abrasion resistant - Exceptional resistance to abrasion and to a wide range of chemicals Corrosion resistant - Does not contain any metallic particles Chemical resistant - Proven against a wide range of industrial chemicals Solvent free & Non - toxic - No odour during application and can be used in confined areas. Description Nitocote EP405 is a two pack, solvent free, epoxy resin material. It is supplied in pre-measured quantities ready for site mixing and use. The material cures to provide a smooth, hygienic and tough finish which is suitable for contact with potable water and foodstuffs. It is available in blue and white colours. Technical Support Fosroc provides a technical advisory service supported by a team of specialists in the field. Design Criteria Nitocote EP405 is designed to be applied in two coats to achieve a minimum total dry film thickness of 200 microns. To achieve the correct protective properties, Nitocote EP405 must be applied on to the substrate at the coverage rates recommended. Specification Clauses Potable water / waterproofing lining The tank/reservoir lining shall be Nitocote EP405, a two pack epoxy coating specifically designed for contact with potable water. The cured film shall comply with the requirements of IS9833 - 1981. Application Instructions Preparation Concrete surfaces All surfaces must be smooth, sound and free from debris, loose or flaking material and areas of standing water. Surfaces must be free from contamination such as oil, grease, dust, loose particles and organic growth. Concrete surfaces must be fully cured, laitance free and free from any traces of shuttering, release oils and curing compounds. All surfaces should then be grit blasted to remove all foreign matter and open up blow-holes, and provide a suitable key for Nitocote EP405. All blow holes and imperfections should be filled with Nitocote VF / Nitomortar FC. Steel Surfaces All surfaces should be grit blasted to obtain bright metal surface. The lining work should be programmed so that newly cleaned steel is coated as soon as possible before the formation of rust or scale. Mixing The contents of the base can should be stirred thoroughly to disperse any settlement. The entire contents of the hardener can should be poured into the base container and mixed thoroughly until a uniform consistency is obtained, taking particular care to scrape the sides and bottom of the container. It is recommended that mechanical mixing be employed, using a mixer or a heavy duty, slow speed electric drill fitted with a paddle. Application Any surfaces should be treated with two coats of Nitocote EP405.
  • contain special hardwearing aggregates which have been selected for abrasion and wear resistant properties as well as shape and size. These latter considerations, together with the use of high performance workability admixtures, produces a material which is easy to trowel into the surface of fresh, wet concrete. Nitofl or Hardtop Standard cure monolithically to provide a dense, non-porous surface which is extremely hardwearing and abrasion resistant. Monolithic cure ensures that problems normally associated with thin ''granolithic'' screeds, viz., shrinkage, cracking, etc., are completely overcome. Being non-metallic, Nitoflor Hardtop Standard provide a non-slip surface which will never rust and disintegrate. Non metallic - does not rust or stain. Provides a hard, abrasion resistant surface Forms monolithic bond with base concrete Easy and economical to apply Details - Abrasion resistance -( IS : 1237 - 1980) Base concrete -of 300 kg/m3 Fire -Nitoflor Hardtop / Nitoflor Hardtop Standard are not flammable
  • Uses: The high elasticity, excellent bond and low water permeability of Nitoproof 600 make it ideal for a wide range of water/ vapour proofing applications such as foundations, basements, tunnels, ground floors, suspended floors, car decks, roof terraces, balconies, patios, bridges, precincts, inspection pits, water retaining structures (not potable water), sewage works, and inverted roofs. The excellent chemical resistance of Nitoproof 600 makes it particularly suitable for tanking applications in areas where aggressive ground water conditions prevail. Advantages: One component; ready to apply direct from the can Liquid application means details are simplified and there are no joints in the membrane Highly elastic, cures to give a permanently flexible resilient barrier over a wide range of temperatures Rapid installation; significantly reduces time spent on preparatory works and detailing Excellent adhesion, can be applied to a wide range of substrates. Continuous adhesion prevents lateral migration of water Impervious - outstanding barrier properties ensure protection against corrosive soil conditions Thermally stable - irreversible chemical cure eliminates melting and flow at high temperature Excellent resistance to oxidation and embrittlement Mechanical damage to the membrane can be easily repaired by spot application Ideal as a water/vapour barrier. Standard Compliance: Nitoproof 600 meets the requirements of ASTM C836-84. Description: Nitoproof 600 single component pitch modified polyurethane cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to give a tough elastomeric waterproof membrane. It is supplied in a single grade to meet all site application methods and requirements. Nitoproof 600 is a medium viscosity grade (approximately 600 poise) for roller, squeegee or spray application to horizontal and vertical surfaces. Instructions for Use: Preparation: All surfaces to be waterproofed should be sound, clean and dry. Concrete surfaces should have a light steel-trowel followed by a fine hair-broom or equivalent finish which is dry and free of dust, oil and other contaminants. All high spots should be removed. Moss and lichen must be removed physically followed by treatment with fungicidal wash to kill any spores and inhibit further growth. After treatment wash down thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. All metal surfaces should be made clean of paint, oils, rust and other contaminants. Abrade to expose bright metal then wipe clean with Fosroc Solvent 102 prior to priming. Priming: Priming is not normally required on good quality concrete substrates. However, absorbent surfaces such as porous concrete, sand/cement and cement boards will require sealing to prevent absorption of Nitoproof 600. This should be done using a 1:1 mixture of Nitoproof 600 and Fosroc Solvent 102. Use Nitoprime 32* as a primer for bituminous surfaces. All metal and PVC surfaces should be cleaned and abraded before priming. Movement joints: All expansion and movement joints should be sealed with Nitoseal 220*† . When cured, Nitoseal Debonding Tape*† should be applied to the top surface of the sealant and the joint then overcoated with a 1.3mm thick application of Nitoproof 600 extending 150mm each side of the tape. Embed a 100mm or 150mm wide strip of Nitoproof Scrim*†, then allow to cure before general application.
  • Nitoseal PU40 is a one part, low modulus gun-grade elastomeric sealant based on polyurethane technology. Nitoseal PU40 may be applied to joints between 5 and 35mm wide. To minimise stress imposed on the joint sealant, all moving joints should be designed to an optimum width to depth ratio of 2:1 with an overriding minimum depth of 5mm for non-porous surfaces and 10mm for porous surfaces. For joint widths exceeding 35mm, please contact your local Fosroc Technical Service Department. Features:- Adhesion to most common building materials Single component with fast rate of cure Easy to apply UV resistant Primerless for most applications (see "Priming") Available in a range of colours ISO11600:2002 Type F 25LM compliant Brand- Fosroc
