Concrete Repair

  • Medium fast setting concrete patching compoundUsesPatchroc has been specially designed to provide a fast set repairin concrete fl oors and pavements and is particularly usefulwhere traffi c must be kept fl owing with minimum down time.Patchroc will be of particular interest to industrial maintenanceengineers, transport managers, airport authorities or anywherethat pot holes in concrete cause a hazard to pedestrian andwheeled traffi c.Advantages Medium Fast setting - Minimum disruption to traffi c Easy to use - Needs only the addition of water. Easy to lay - Very easy to apply & fi nish Non shrink - Does not crack High adhesion - Use Nitobond AR as primer ensures goodbonding to concrete substrates. Durable & Tough surface - Resistant to wear and tearDescriptionPatchroc is supplied as a pre-blended dry powder to which wateris added to produce an easily trowellable mortar. Patchrocis a blend of inorganic cements, additives to modify and controlthe rate of setting and strength gain, with selected hard wearingaggregates. Patchroc does not contain calcium chloride.Patchroc has been designed for the patching of small areas ofconcrete i.e., individual patches requiring not more than 12.6litre yield per 25kg bag of Patchroc. The blend of cements eliminates shrinkage with the consequentreduction of stress at the bond line. Long lasting adhesionis ensured by the use of Nitobond AR bonding agent.Technical supportA technical advisory service is available for onsite assistancein the use of Fosroc product range.PropertiesTypical Properties at 300CWorking life 10 minSetting time 20 minTraffi c TimeVehicular 12 hoursPedestrian 2 hoursCompressive strength (N/mm2) at 300C2 Hours : 151 Day : 4028 Days : 55Mixed density 2.20 g/ccApplication instructionsBefore using any repair material Fosroc recommends thatthe reason for the failure be diagnosed by a suitably qualifi edauthority.Surface preparationSuccessful repairs to concrete depend totally on correct surfacepreparation. Particular care should be taken to ensureall surfaces are completely free of laitance, oil, dust, grease, plaster, paint, corrosion and any other deleterious substances.Laitance should be mechanically removed by high pressurewater blasting, grit blasting or a combination of both. Oil andgrease deposits, should be removed by steam cleaning ordetergent scrubbing, or with use of a proprietary degreaser.Smooth surface should be mechanically roughened by scrabblingor needle gun to form a good key. All reinforcing steelmust be grit blasted to a profi le of SA21/2 prior to the applicationof Nitozinc Primer.Edges of the areas for repair must be saw cut to 12mm to avoidfeather edging. Finally the complete area should be blown cleanwith oil free compressed air.Patchroc may be used from a minimum of 12mm to a maximumof 50mm thick. If the depth of the pot hole is greater than 50mm,individual layers should be scratch keyed and allowed to set fora minimum of 2 hours before priming and placing the next layer.PrimingAll surfaces must be primed prior to repair. Before priming, thesubstrate should be thoroughly soaked with clean water and anyexcess shall be removed from the surface preferably by oil freecompressed air. Concrete must be primed with Nitobond AR.Nitobond AR should be scrubbed into the surface of the concrete.Patchroc should be applied to the primed surface assoon as possible after mixing
  • Renderoc Plug is supplied as a ready to use blend of dry powders which requires only the site addition of clean water to produce a highly consistent, rapid setting mortar which is easy to apply in many difficult conditions. The material is based on a blend of cement, graded aggregates, special fillers and chemical additives which control the rate of set and minimise the risk of thermal cracking. Renderoc Plug provides an initial set time of approximately one minute. Emergency water-stopping capability. Single component - only the addition of clean water is required. Excellent bond to the substrate. Low exotherm minimises thermal cracking. Pre-bagged formulation to overcome variations in site batching. Contains no chloride admixture Details - Compressive strength Class R1 > 10 MPa Chloride ion content< 0.05% Adhesive bond> 0.8 MPa Reaction to fire Class A1 Dangerous substance Complies with 5.4
  • Renderoc RGL is supplied as a ready to use blend of dry powder, which requires only the site addition of clean water to produce a free-flowing, non-shrink microconcrete. The material is based on Portland cements, and fillers, and additives which impart controlled expansion characteristics in the plastic state, while minimising water demand. The low water requirement ensures high early strength and long-term durability. For larger repairs, Renderoc RG(L) may be modified by the addition of 5mm to 12mm clean, graded saturated surface dry aggregates at site. For exceptionally large repairs, the local Fosroc office should be consulted. Uses For economical repairs to damaged reinforced concrete elements, particularly where access is restricted and where vibration of the placed material is difficult or impossible. Suitable for various structural strengthening measures such as filling honeycombs and cracks. Advantages Gaseous expansion system compensates for shrinkage and settlement in the plastic state. Can be pumped or poured into restricted locations. Highly fluid to allow for placement without vibration. Pre-packed to overcome site-batched variations. Low permeability Economical Contains no chloride admixture. Ease of use
